Negotiations with publishers about lowering the increase of prices of EIRs

The situation with Covid-19 negatively affected the economic sphere, including strong foreign currencies. Therefore we started negotiating with selected EIR providers whom we asked for annulment or at least reduction of year-on-year increases of prices of individual EIRs for years 2021 and 2022, and in case of open access and hybrid journals for providing free tokens for publishing in open mode.

These dealings weren’t simple, but the feedback of many EIR providers has been positive and we already know about many benefits that will be introduced to you during the fourth quarter of current year, and later we will sign amendments to Contracts about securing and enabling of EIRs.

We expect the talks with publishers about licensing and financial conditions of the contracts to finish by the end of October of this year.
