Contract duration: 1 January 2023 - 31 December 2025

How does an author publish an Open Access article?

  1. Paper preparation
    • select a journal at Cambridge Core
    • read the Instructions for Contributors (IFCs) and amend your paper according to the guidelines

  2. Paper submission
    • click on: "Submit your article" on the home page of the selected journal


    • log in using your login and password or your ORCID iD



    • start uploading your paper (for hybrid journals it is not possible to select the OA publishing mode at this time)


    • complete the sending of your paper in the Online Peer Review System (OPRS)* (* Editorial Manager or ScholarOne)
    • you will receive an e-mail confirming that the paper has been sent
  3. Review procedure
    • your paper will undergo a review procedure
  4. Publication decision
    • your paper has been accepted for publication



    • fill in and send the OA Author publishing agreement (APA) - Open Access Articles section - this is your confirmation of your interest in publishing OA (the standard Gold OA license is CC BY 4.0)



    • if you do not fill in the APA, the system will recognize your affiliation and send you a notification about the possibility of publishing in the OA mode


    • your paper will pass through the publication process - editing, spelling/grammar check, typography settings, and final revision by the author
  5. Payment for publishing
    • no action is required from the author - eligibility for free publication is confirmed by CzechELib
  6. Publication of the article
    • the article is published Open Access in the title you selected
